GoodbyeStephen Gately
I heard on radio yesterday that Stephen Gately passed away..... For those who don't know him, he's one of the Boyzone members. Most girls swoon over Ronan Keating but I remember arguing with my classmates that Stephen looked better.... Flawless skin and innocent boy next door look. In 1999 he admitted that he was gay..... That did upset me but despite being gay, he still has the kindest smile and cheerful face that makes you want to know him better..But what upset me most is that he died in his sleep few days ago... due to accumulation of fluid in his lungs..... How could one die in his sleep at such a young age ( 33 yrs old. Even sleeping has become a dangerous activity these days....
Anyhow.... Stephen will be greatly missed in this world...I hope Boyzone could still go on cos if Stephen is watching them from afar, he would certainly want them to continue making beautiful music... in his memory.

I Look To You
Here's a song that hasn't failed (so far) to make me shed a tear (or more) everytime I listen to it...Whitney Houston's back with this really touching song...
http://www.imeem.com/popvideos/video/altSDptR/whitney-houston-i-look-to-you/
I Look To YOu
As I lay me down
Heaven hear me now
Im lost without a cause
After giving it my all
Winter storms have come
And darkened my sun
After all that I've been through
Who on earth can I turn to
I look to you
I look to you
After all my strength is gone
In you I can be strong
I look to you
I look to you
Yeah
And when melodies are gone
In you I hear a song
I look to you
After losing my breath
There's no more fighting left
Sinking to rise no more
Searching for that open door
And every road that I've taken
Lead to my regret
And I don't know if Im gonna make it
Nothing to do but lift my head
I look to you
I look to you
Yeah
And when all my strength is gone
In you I can be strong
I look to you
I look to you
Oh yeah
And when melodies are gone
In you I hear a song
I look to you
(my levies have broken, my walls have come)
Coming down on me
(crumbling down on me)
All the rain is falling
(the rain is falling, defeat is calling)
Set me free
(i need you to set me free)
Take me far away from the battle
I need you
Shine on me
I look to you
I look to you
After all my strength has gone
in you I can be strong
I look to you
I look to you
and when melodies are gone
In you I hear a song
I look to you
yeah
I look to you
oooooooh
I look to you

When was the last time said this to you?
Listen to this song... everything a lady wants to hear from her man! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lB1UJsutvkc
Gentlemen.... if you r lost for words, just use these lyrics... hahaha

Some motivation.......An Evening With A Wise Man
Today after dinner, I had a real good chat with a wiseman, my dear's Dad. Two hours plus of motivation free of charge in the comfort of my home! Here are some things I learned from that I find very true..... so gotta post it here before it slips my mind one day...
Job- related points to ponder....
1. How to live the rest of your life not working but still earning?
Answer: Convert your job into your hobby... That way you wont have to work a single day but still earn a living!
2. War Strategy of Tsun Szu ( hope I spelt it right)
How to get your soldiers to fight with all their might and strength?
Send them to war and burn all their ships ( so they have to fight for survival)
3. Respect is not demanded but earned
4. Be kind to your subordinates...happy staff= more productive work cos they do their work willingly instead of being forced.
5. Empathize rather than sympathize
6. Be of assistance to your boss... When there is work to be done, volunteer... dont run away. What do you gain? Extra work via volunteerism = Challenge+ Knowledge+ Skill + Favour
7. Tong kai kau malau (Literally means "kill chicken to teach monkey", in Cantonese)
Means that one needs to use an example to teach others and that example must be something the learner can identify with. So where does the monkey and chicken fit in the story? Well, to explain to the monkey how you are going to kill him, you need to demonstrate to demonstrate the same method on another animal. If you demonstrate on the monkey itself, he will never know how he died cos he's already dead.
On Parenting
1. Do not instill fear cos fear stops the brain from learning
2. Over protected kids turn out rebellious or naive
3. Use reverse psychology
Okie... it's late and time to recharge my batteries... so Good night .....

Pictures of the Gown
The Search Ends Here....
Episode 1
Well...it was like 2 weeks ago but I still can't believe how I managed to get the Gown...first all by myself and then with my best buddy and her hubby.....
I found this website www.mybridalgown.blogspot.com late one night and there it was... my dream gown. Lace outside, satin inside, capped sleeves and beautiful train....I emailed the shop and they actually called me up to confirm an appointment.. (a week after I had to cancel the first one. Remembe what happened in my previous blog? )Anway, I just had to go see it for myself.... so...rain or shine, here I come!
It was a Friday morning, took leave for my great and hopefully the final search. Took ERL to KL Central then LTR to Kelana Jaya... boarded a taxi and off I went to MyBridalGown in Aman Suria. Armed with only my handphone, I called Samantha (the co-owner of MyBridalGown) to confirm the location.
Around 10am plus.... I was greeted by a friendly lady dressed in an assymatrical blouse. Samantha then ushered me up the stairs, into their showroom. It was not what I expected but who cares how the shop looks like...as long as they have gorgeous gowns that fit me...
According to Samantha, they were actually preparing for a bridal workshop the next day so most of their gowns were already in KLCC. What's left in the showroom are the lace gowns that I was interested in.
The gown was really breathtaking... without wasting a minute, i slipped it on to try. Unfortunately, it was too big...meant for someone taller and fuller in the upper department..... Too bad... but all was not lost. There was another lace gown... This one had a mandarin collar with sheer floral lace on the halter neck style bodice. it was really feminine and I actually loved it. Ofcourse it needed some alteration because it's made for someone with a longer torso. Nevermind... "do"able. The skirt was fairy-like with it's lace overlay opening in the center-line. The inner material was ivory in color.
Next, tried a strapless trumpet gon... another gorgeous work of art! It was sparkly with sequins around the skirt . it had a sweep train......Sigh.... I was in love with both gowns...Samantha let me try a few other gowns and the third one that amazed me was this mermaid gown with detachable train. The train was really long and it had delicately cut out floral motifs. I don't know the tailor lingo for that detail but it was really breathtaking. The only problem was the waistline... too tight. The lace up bodice actually had to be expanded around the waistline (not very pretty sight if i took out the bow of the train. )It would need some alteration and I think it might be risky if I were to get fatter around the wedding day bcos the material is shiny satin ( which glows) .
After like 3 hours of trying this and that, I had to decide between the mandarin collar or the strapless...... tough choice indeed but decided to go home with the mandarin collar. Paid RM 1XXX for the gown and began my journey home. Samantha was kind enough to drive me to the ATM and then the train station....Went straight home... happy with my choice...
Skyped my dear one to show him the gown ( by the way, it was his Birthday!) and he liked it. Was actually still undecided until he confirmed that he liked what i brought home.
Episode 2
I lay the gown on my bed and had really good look at the details..... Wih the flourescent light, it was easy to see the minute details......
To my horror, my eyes caught sight of a few stains... one on the lace behind the shoulder blade area and a few brown spots on the lace overlay of the skirt.... Called samantha and informed her. MAde an appointment on Sunday to take it back for stain removal.if the stain can't be removed, I'd like to byu the other gown...
Saturday passed me by and I met up with one of my bridesmaids ..just to hang out and then go for church. Couldn't go to the bridal shop because they were having a workshop the whole day.
Episode 3
Marg and Hubby came over all the way to pick me up and accompany me to the shop once again. This time I brought my GPS. Just set it to Old Town White Coffee and it would lead u to the same row of shops as the bridal gown shop.Marg is actually my Top Two best buddy in Uni and she was really nice to come all the way ( dragging along her hubbywho drove us) I told Samantha that I wanted to try the strapless gown and the mandarin collar gown for Marg to see. Perhaps she would have a better view of both gown the mirrors in the shop. both Marg and her hubby loved the strapless gown. Here's what she said," the lace gown showcases the dress but the strapless showcases you". She helped MMS my mum and mum liked the lace gown instead.... Both Marg saidit looked good in photo but not in person.
While Marg and I discussed, Samantha and her partner Daphne was entertaining another customer . When they left, I have not reached my verdict... hahaha.....( I must be the worst customer ever!) finally Samantha declared th stain wasn't removable . It's actually a brown tread woven into the lace fabric. Not noticiable but I'm particular about having a spotless wedding gown. ..so...OK... it was a clear cut case! I quickly chose the strapless and Samantha paid me the balance ( the lace gown was dearer). With a sigh of relief, Marg and Hubby (and also the shop people) were glad I made a decision.
We bundled it into the car and MArg remarked, " See? It looks good even in the zip up case!) The 3 of us went for toast in Old Town....
So, the moral of the story are the following:
1. Don't so kanceong ...bring somebody to shop together
2. Best friends always stand by you and Marg is a clear cut case
3. Good and honest shop people do exist ( like Samantha)
4. if you want something, you 've gotta go for it (even if it means taking 2 trains)
I'm really happy with the dress... flawless and value for money purchase. Although I didnt get my dream dress but this one does flatter me better that dream dress...so why not. My dream of having a cathedral train dress also left at the doorstep. But Ican always settle for a cathedral veil gua....

How Do you Know If He's The One?
I've always thought that if he really loves me, he should accept me as I am..... but now, I have a different school of thought...
Today , I'm a strong believer that a true match made in heaven should be a person who doesn't just accept you as you are but a person who brings out the best in you. In other words, someone who prompts you to improve yourself. Let's face it, nobody is perfect.. Everyone has flaws... so if the person who matters the most to you just accepts you as you are, then you will never improve... after all the most important person in your life doesn't bother if you are
maximizing your potential or not.....
Just a point to ponder on.............

The Gown Search....
Been searching virtually and physically for the perfect white wedding gown...... alas... something that almost matches my sketch.... at My Bridal Gown blogspot. Made an appointment with the owner of the shop next week. This weekend everyone I had on my list couldn' t accompany me..... it's like it wasnt meant to be.....Best buddy was busy with her parents' visit (I totally understand cos they r flying back tomorrow), bridesmaid went back to Ipoh, Maid ( Man) of Honor had to repair his car and I couldn't open my mouth to ask another two possible shopping buddies ( dare not disturb them cos am not that close) and my other bridesmaid stays in Miri. So... stayed home to clean up the house. Went grocery shopping with my bf's Dad in TESCO and spent the rest of the day at home.
Could have made appointment tomorrow but then I have an appointment with the vet.... Shandy the dog needs 4 japs and tomorrow is the first dose......Guess really not meant to be the day for me to gown hunting....
